As a PGA professional from Norway, I’ve played many incredible golf courses around the world — but The Saint Andrews Golf Club truly stands out. The course is world-class in both design and condition especially the greens, and this is my favorite one in the US. I’m very thankful they allowed me to play here, and I’ll definitely be back next time I visit New York.

Some places simply demand to be experienced, and Saint Andrew’s is one of them. Saint Andrew’s, the oldest golf club in America, founded in 1888, carries itself with exactly the quiet, unapologetic authority that distinction deserves. There is no need to announce its greatness. It is self-evident. The course is a masterwork. Jack Nicklaus sculpted 6,614 yards of pure punishment through rolling Westchester terrain, and the hills do not forgive the careless or the casual. The conditioning is, in a word, flawless. The kind of flawless that makes you feel guilty for taking a divot. And then there is the history, so rich and so layered that it practically floats in the air around you. The USGA was born of this place. The first U.S. Amateur and U.S. Open were held here. Saint Andrew’s is the oldest golf club in America for a reason.
